Summer Fun Camp
What is Summer Fun Camp?
Summer Fun Camp will be fully online for the first time this year due to social distancing precautions. Also new -- it's free! Private tutoring is available Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm. Classes for grades 3-9 are held Monday-Friday, 2-6pm. Plenty of time for some good basketball and dance, singing, music production and robotics, plus Minecraft engineering challenges! Weekly virtual playground games and field trips and great teachers too!
Summer Fun Camp is a fun and educational summer bridge program for grades 3-9. STEM classes such as animation, engineering, and robotics are offered each year, along with tutoring, performing and visual arts, sports and recreation, field trips and more. Students have a great time while reinforcing the math, reading, writing and science skills oftentimes forgotten over summer, the "summer slide" or "COVID slide."
What about high school students?
High school youth can attend Summer Fun Camp as volunteer or paid Teen Helpers. Paid is dependant on acceptance by one of our employment partners. See Teens for more information. As Teen Helpers, they can attend and participate in activities, including classes and field trips, tuition-free. For information on interviews for summer teen helpers, contact our camp director Christelle Telesford at (323) 756-7203.
"The Wooten Center was there for me when I needed the support the most. They really encourage you to be the best person you can be and they also give you the resources you need to succeed at what you do."
Gift Udeh, Wooten alum / CSUN, electrical engineering student
