About the Meeting:
Students in grades 8-12 are invited to join us biweekly for discussions on planning for success in high school. Students will learn how to achieve a high GPA through activities such as advanced courses. They will learn how to achieve their college and career goals by being more competitive in their applications through leadership, sports, community service, and other extracurricular activities. They will create plans online and track their progess with their mentors at each biweekly Teen Scholar meeting. RSVP for them all!
About the Mentors:
The meetings will be facilitated by Eric Moore, executive director of Educate California, developer of the virtual LifePrep Academy portal to be used to create the online plans. Eric has a BS in organizational psychology from CSULB and produces the LifePrep Academy high school planning handbook used by LA County Office of Education.
Eric will be joined by Wooten college and career advisor Daphne McAdoo. Mrs. McAdoo retired from LAUSD as a college advisor at schools including Crenshaw, Dorsey, Washington and Narbonne. She has a BA in sociology from UCLA and an MA in counseling from CSUDH. She also currently serves as a reader for UCLA freshman college applications.
